在皖南池州東至縣的深山峽谷之中， 靜臥著一座千年古寨——南溪古寨。

In a valley of Dongzhi county， Chizhou city， southern Anhui lies Nanxi Ancient Village-a village with a history of more than a thousand years。

遠望山巒屹立、霧氣升騰，九條山脈俯身而下，南溪古寨就隱蔽在山脈腹地之中。村口古樹旁的一座單孔石拱古橋訴說著這個千年古寨的歷史，這樣的古橋村裡還有兩座，叫做“進村三把鎖”。古寨沿溪而建，水道呈S形走向，繞過99弄，跨過88溝，寨內宛如一個天然八卦迷宮。山、水、村的絕妙結合，稱為“三奇”。

這個又名金家村的小小村落，隱蔽在山脈腹地。青磚黛瓦馬頭牆，看起來和皖南的任何一座村落並無二致。而村子裡珍藏的金氏族譜中的記載，其為匈奴最大部落休屠王之子日磾的後人。唐朝末年，金氏祖先金僑公為避黃巢戰亂，從徽州黃燈遷到此地定居。因此，被譽為“隱居在大山裡的匈奴部落”居住地。塞上的馬背文化和江南的農耕文明，在這裡悄然碰撞融合。

Also called Jins village， it is known as the settlement of “a Huns tribe living a secluded life in mountains”， because according to the pedigree records well-preserved in the village， most dwellers here are descendants of Jin Midi， a prince of the biggest Huns tribe。 During the late Tang dynasty， the Jins fled from the insurrection in Huizhou area to this hinterland surrounded by mountains。 With a millennium passing by， the then shelter has already turned into a village in typical southern Anhui style， where livid bricks， greenish-black tiles， and horse-head-shaped walls can be seen everywhere。

99條巷弄，全是曲徑通幽的石板小道，房屋依山而建，繞著小溪有序地排列著，溪水就從房簷屋腳下流淌。住在這裡的金氏族人和皖南土生土長的居民已日趨相同。養豬、種菜，也已是他們的日常。我們只能在留存於建築和石刻上的騎射圖案中找尋著歷史的痕跡。

The oldest buildings in the village are the Jins’ Ancestral Hall and the Huns’ Castle。 Built in 1583， the Jins’ Ancestral Hall is the only existing ancestral hall in the village。 The plinths with patterns of sky and clouds and bow-shaped camber beams in the hall all symbolize the Huns’ culture。 The Huns’ Castle， founded in the Yuan dynasty to defend against attacks， is the highest building in the village。 Unlike common buildings which stand straight up on the ground， it leans at a 60 degree angle like an arrow about to be shot to the northwest-the direction of their ancestors’ hometown。

金家村裡最古老的兩處建築，是金氏祠堂和匈奴城堡。金氏宗祠始建於1583年，是南溪古寨現在尚存的唯一一座祠堂。堂內柱礎上青天白雲的圖案和弓箭模樣的彎梁還保留著匈奴的特徵。匈奴城堡建於元代，是整個古寨的最高處，當時用來防禦外敵。這座碉堡牆壁之間的夾角並不是直角，它呈60度，像一支呼之欲出的箭。而箭之所指正是西北方，代表了金氏後人對先祖的思念。
